Research Interests

  • John's doctoral research examines the role of stewardship discourse in Australia's oceans and coastal policies
  • The Eastern Cape Communal Arable Lands Project in South Africa is a collaborative research project between Murdoch University, the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture and the Agriculture Research Council of South Africa from 2006 to 2010. It is exploring how pasture legumes might make contributions to agriculture on communal lands.
  • Research into adoption of pasture legumes by WA farmers-with the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia
  • What is the "community" in community development and where is power in "empowerment"?
